Commercial Account Manager

Q-Mass is a market leading global sub-contract precision machining supplier. We are a passionate manufacturing organisation providing world class precision machining to our customers’ specifications and tolerances. Our team manufactures products using best-in-class machinery, and we continuously reinvest to expand our services to include 5-axis CNC Turning & Milling, EDM Spark & Wire erosion, Gun-Drilling, Honing, VAM threading, CMM Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing.
The sectors Q-Mass serves include Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Defence and Renewable Energy. Founded in 2006, Q-Mass has grown to employ 40 people with an annual turnover approaching £12M. Following a successful acquisition in 2024, 2025 and beyond will be exciting times of growth and expansion. We are therefore looking to expand our workforce by recruiting a customer-facing Commercial Manager and/or an Account Manager to report to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage existing and new customer relationships at all levels to ensure constant communication is upheld at all stages of the customer journey.
* Ensure a thorough sales process is followed to manage and close all quotations successfully.
* Manage 3rd party logistics suppliers effectively on an ongoing basis for both Q-Mass and customer requirements.
* Purchase and procure all materials and equipment from suppliers where necessary, ensuring the correct purchase order is in place.
* Manage and oversee all sub-contractor activity to ensure the production plan and ‘on time delivery’ is maintained for the end customer.
* Provide customer updates at all stages of the process from order status, through production to delivery.
* Engender a culture of ‘Continuous Improvement’ and embrace the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality systems employed by the business.
Qualifications
* A commercial background, ideally in precision engineering or manufacturing and ideally gained within Oil and Gas, Aerospace or Defence sectors.
* Experience in Account Management.
* Customer Relationship Building.
* Project Management.
* The ability to manage internal and external relationships across customers, suppliers and all departments within all levels of the business.
* An Engineering degree may be advantageous but is not required.
* Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers.
* Manage own workload effectively in line with deadlines.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to prioritise.
* Ambition to adapt, develop new skills and be resilient and responsive to change.
