Centre Manager – Job Description

Part-Time, 18 hours £17- £20ph depending on experience - £30,940-£36,400 pro rata

Closes 19/10/2025

Reports to: Chair of the Trustees

Line Management Responsibility: Deputy Centre Manager, Volunteers, Cleaners, Admin Staff, Therapists

Purpose of Role

The Centre Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operational management of the Oxfordshire MS Therapy Centre. This includes service delivery, staff and volunteer oversight, compliance, facilities, finance administration, and member engaement.

The Centre Manager will work closely with the Deputy Centre Manager, ensuring clear delegation of duties and shared responsibilities to ensure the Centre runs smoothly, professionally, and in line with charity regulations and good governance.

Key Responsibilities

OperationalLeadership


• Oversee and lead the day-to-dayrunning ofthe Centre.


• Ensure the safe and effective operation of the oxygen chamber, working in collaboration with trained volunteers and the Deputy Manager.


• Ensure that all services are delivered safely, professionally, and in accordance with policies and legal regulations.


• Liaise with therapists to ensure services are planned and managd effectively.


• Oversee the Centres community fundraising to include sponsored events, raffles, store collections,annual quiz etc

People Management


• Line manage the Deputy Centre Manager, cleaners, therapists and any part-tme support staff.


• Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers in collaboration with the Depty Centre Manager.


• Foster a positive and inclusive culture among staff, volunteers, and members.

Compiance and Governance


• Ensure the Centre operates in line with legal requirements, health and safety, data protection, and safeguarding best practices.


• Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures, reporting gapsor outdated content to the Chair or Trustees.


• Maintain and monitor compliance documentation including insurance, risk assessments, training records, and maintenance schedules.

Finance and Administration


• Oversee day-to-day financial administration including petty cash, banking, and payroll prep.


• Work with the Treasurer and Trustees to maintain financial controls and preparedocumentation as required.


• Liaise with external providers for services such as insuance, waste, and suppliers.


• Work with volunteers to help deliver annual fundraising programme

Member and Community Engagement


• Provide a welcoming preence for members and visitors.


• Handle member and volenteer queries,feedback, and ensure that membrs are supported appropriately.


• Work to enhance the Centre's public presence in collaboration with Trustees,including support for communications and fundraising activities.

Facilities andSupplies


• Ensure the building s well-maintained and presentable.


• Oversee stock and supplies ordering.


• Report issues tothe Chair or appropriate Trustee and ensure they are resoled promptly.

Working Relationships

The Centre Manager will:


• Work collaboratively with the Deputy Centre Manager,providing guidance and leadership whiledelegating appropriate responsibilities.


• Maintain regular communication with the Chair and Trustees, including written updates and attendance at board meetings when requested.


• Act as the public faceof the Centr or members, professinals, and partners.

Person Specification

Essential


• Proven experience in managing a smll organisation, service, or community centre.


• Excellent organisational and administrative skils.


• Compassionate and confident commuicator.


• Experience of working with volunteers.


• Understanding of the needs of peopleliving with long-term conditions and disabilities.


• Strong IT literacy including familiarity with databases and booking platforms (e.g. Cliniko).


• Commiment to confidentiality, safeguarding, and equality.

Desirable


• Pevious experience in the charity or healthcre sector.


• Knowledge of clinical service management.


• Experience of preparing reports or compliance documentation.

Hours and Location

Part-time role with flexible working hours to be agreed.
