We are working with a post-16 SEMH provision in Doncaster to find a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to support students in a dynamic, nurturing environment. This full-time, permanent position is available immediately. The provision caters to students at risk of permanent exclusion due to challenging behaviors or requiring a specialized setting beyond mainstream colleges.
As a teaching assistant in this SEMH setting, your main responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with classroom activities and educational programs.
* Providing one-on-one support to help students achieve their learning goals.
* Managing and supporting challenging behavior calmly and effectively.
* Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
The ideal candidate will be committed to positively impacting students with SEMH needs and possess:
* Previous experience in SEMH, SEN, or similar educational settings.
* A high level of resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A genuine passion for supporting and inspiring young people.
* A Level 3 TA Qualification is advantageous.
Requirements include:
* Relevant experience in education or care settings.
* A strong understanding of SEMH and behavioral strategies.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
