Role Overview We are seeking a Principal EC&I Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) systems across major nuclear projects. This role provides technical leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of EC&I systems across nuclear projects. Provide technical expertise and guidance to engineering teams and act as a subject-matter expert. Ensure EC&I solutions meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards. Oversee project progress, resolve technical issues, and make strategic decisions. Collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies. Mentor junior engineers and support continuous technical development within the team. Manage stakeholders effectively, aligning technical solutions with project objectives. Requirements Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or related discipline. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred or working towards it. Extensive experience in EC&I system design and delivery within regulated industries (nuclear, energy, or defence). Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation technologies, and power distribution systems. Proven track record of leadership, project delivery, and stakeholder management. Understanding of nuclear safety standards, regulatory compliance, and technical governance. Security Clearance: Must be able to achieve and maintain SC clearance.
