We are partnering with a well-established, privately owned engineering consultancy that delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across the South Coast. Their work spans multiple sectors including education, healthcare, retail, large-scale residential developments, and bespoke private homes.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join their Poole-based team.
The Role
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions across a range of complex projects. You will be responsible for leading structural design and analysis, ensuring technical excellence, and supporting the development of junior engineers.
Key responsibilities include
* Leading the structural design and analysis of varied and complex projects
* Reviewing, approving, and finalising engineering calculations, drawings, and reports
* Acting as a key point of contact for clients, architects, and other stakeholders
* Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior team members
* Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
* Contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships
About You
* Chartered or working towards Chartership (IStructE or ICE)
* Proven experience in structural engineering across multiple sectors
* Strong technical expertise in design and analysis (steel, concrete, timber, masonry)
* Experience leading projects and managing client relationships
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* A proactive and collaborative approach
