ABOUT THE ROLE We have an opportunity for a Financial Controller to join the Finisterre team on a fixed term basis 15th of June to 29th of September 2026. Covering the Financial Controller role during a period of parental leave, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely commercial reporting and providing financial insight to support the finance strategy and ongoing performance of the business. So, if you are as passionate about the ocean as we are and if you want to be part of a truly authentic, purpose-led brand and you share our vision to create exceptional products in a responsible way, then we would love to hear from you KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting Consolidation of four legal entities, ensuring end to end delivery and ownership of accurate, timely, relevant reporting and accounting information, including management accounts pack Ownership of the month-end close process, meeting the 5-day target Preparation of quarterly banking and lender reporting, providing management information and covenant support where required Production of management account pack for the North America region, including presenting performance analysis and commentary Finance Ops Responsible for all transactional finance: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll (preparation and liaison with outsourced payroll company) Implement and enforce effective financial controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to promote efficiency and accuracy in financial operations Treasury Ownership of 13-week rolling cashflow forecast, monitoring short-term liquidity and variances, to be shared with commentary to CEO, CFO and Chairmen Review and approve weekly payment runs prepared by Accounts Assistant Monitoring and management of TradePay facility, including balances and repayments Management of FX exposure and currency transactions to mitigate risk Oversight of treasury activities, optimising returns on surplus cash and manage banking relationships Compliance Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements including Tax & VAT International tax compliance monitoring, coordinating global filings with external tax advisors and managing indirect tax reporting Ensure all Companies House filings are completed and submitted on time for Finisterre UK Limited, Fitzroy Apparel Limited, Finisterre CIC Team Ensure effective and clear communication to the team of business strategy and departmental roadmap Build strong working relationships between the finance team and the rest of the business Keep a culture of open communication and feedback within the team and its direct contacts Requirements WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO FINISTERRE A qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) Relevant experience in a multi-channel retail business A solid track record of technical accounting A consummate finance professional, commercially astute and digitally experienced Excellent leadership with a hands-on approach when needed Experience in NetSuite preferred Excellent self-awareness, communication, networking and interpersonal skills Passion, energy and aspiration in line with Finisterre values, products, brand and customers Thrives on positive change and able to manage self and others under pressure Important: The successful candidate must, by the start of their employment, have permission to work in the UK.
