Schedule: 4xFlex (37.5 hours/week)

They are now seeking a Software Engineer to support a range of high-impact programmes within their Defence, Cyber, and Intelligence portfolio.
Please note: To be considered for this role, you must be eligible for UK security clearance at DV (Developed Vetting) level.

💻 What You’ll Be Doing
As a Software Engineer, you’ll work across the full software development lifecycle within a secure delivery environment. You may focus on one area or operate across multiple disciplines with an emphasis on DevSecOps and secure software engineering.
Responsibilities include:
* Designing and developing robust, testable software solutions
* Debugging and correcting code while following secure coding best practices
* Collaborating with stakeholders to refine software based on mission needs
* Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and other tools
* Preparing documentation and contributing to system design reviews
* Supporting junior engineers and contributing to agile team delivery
✅ What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a Software Engineer with strong technical foundations and a passion for building secure, scalable systems.
Key skills & experience:
* Proficiency in Java (and other languages such as Python)
* Experience with Linux-based development environments
* Solid knowledge of unit testing frameworks like JUnit 5.x
* Strong experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile (SCRUM) methodologies
* Familiarity with Oracle/MongoDB, React, TypeScript, Apache NiFi, Elasticsearch
* Experience mentoring junior team members
Bonus points for:
* Exposure to AWS cloud services (e.g. EC2, Lambda, S3, EKS)
* Knowledge of serverless and microservice architectures
* Experience in developing software for cloud deployments
* Hands-on with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
* Previous involvement in secure government programmes or environments
