Transport Manager

A quick look at the role
We're looking for an experienced Transport Manager to take ownership of a 24+ vehicle fleet and lead the day-to-day operations of our Traffic Office in Ipswich. You'll play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient transport operations while driving performance and customer service.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real responsibility and impact.
Your core responsibilities
* Lead and motivate drivers, dispatchers, and operatives across multi-shift operations
* Manage fleet compliance, vehicle safety, and operator licence requirements
* Drive KPI performance across safety, service, and cost control
* Ensure full compliance with transport, environmental, and H&S legislation
* Champion a strong safety culture, including near-miss reporting
* Build strong relationships with internal teams and external customers
Our essential requirements
* Proven experience in transport or logistics management
* National CPC qualification
* Strong knowledge of transport, environmental, and H&S compliance
* Commercially minded with experience managing costs and performance
* Confident leader and communicator
* Good local area knowledge and flexibility to travel when required
