About the Role
Position: Freedom Vision Optometrist (mobile)
Location: South West covering Swansea, Bristol, Gloucester, Swindon, and Taunton
Hours: 37.5 hours/week, 5 days out of 6 (any weekend working will allow for a rota day off)
Salary: £70,000 + Car
Are you seeking a new direction in your optometry career? This exciting Mobile Optometrist role involves working across some of the UK's most beautiful locations. It is ideal for optometrists wishing to focus on clinical care rather than retail aspects, working across several Freedom Vision hospitals in the South West and South Wales.
Occasional overnight stays may be required, with hotel accommodation, breakfast, and evening meals provided. A company car will also be supplied.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct pre and post-op consultations for Freedom Vision
* Discuss available options professionally with patients
* Telephone pre-screening and discussions about lens options
* Collaborate with the clinical team and Patient Liaison Manager for smooth operations
* Participate in CET delivery to community optometric partners
* Analyze post-op data
* Adhere to clinical governance policies and procedures
* Report incidents or accidents appropriately
* Support SpaMedica Optoms with Refractive Lens Exchange suitability assessments
* Attend meetings with lens companies
* Complete mandatory training
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Candidate Requirements
* Current GOC registration as an optometrist
* Passionate about learning; higher qualifications encouraged
* Hospital optometry experience is a plus but not essential; full training provided
