82157 - EHV Field Engineer This EHV Field Engineer will report to the Lead Field Engineer and will work within Network Operations based in our locations in SPN (Distributed Working) Fishersgate - Covering our Surrey and Sussex sites. This includes liaison with customers, network operations and control, networks planning and supervision of field staff and management of contractors. Principle Accountabilities: Ensure high standards of safety management throughout all areas of responsibility Responsibility for delivery of all construction, maintenance and fault works to time, cost and quality Ensuring staff comply with all policies and procedures and work to a high standard of quality Daily planning, co-ordination and real time responsibility for the efficient utilisation of resources in conjunction with the South East Region scheduling team Liaise with HV/LV control – submission of HV/LV switching log, complete HV/LV network operations in accordance to distribution safety rules and policies and procedures. etc. Support and provide technical support to field staff, Manage and resolve any contract actual issues, with the support of Contract Management. Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the safe delivery of projects work as and when required. Complete quality assurance checks of works completed and take action to rectify any quality issues identified. Liaise with and manage relationships with our customers with the aim of meeting their expectations wherever possible. To be prepared to assist other sections as and when required e.g. organisational changes, system emergencies etc as determined by your skills, knowledge and experience. The post holder will be required to participate in an agreed standby arrangement as per the contractual standby requirements, for responding to safety/emergency network incidents in accordance with the 2012 PMSNF Standby Agreement. Nature and Scope: The post holder will be an integral part of the team responsible for the delivery of the 33kV and 132kV Primary Inspection and Maintenance work within a geographical area. The work will predominantly be delivering the plant maintenance on the 33kV network, but will also include supporting the 3 33/132 kV overhead, 33/132 kV protection plant maintenance programmes within the region. In conjunction with the scheduling team, Field Staff Supervisors and Field Staff, the post holder will be responsible for delivering an excellent service to our customers, ensuring we meet the requirements of our Guaranteed Service Standards. Notes for Candidates: An EHV Field Engineer will be capable of planning and delivering work on plant (including GIS), underground cables and/or overhead lines up to and including 132 kV, including the preparation & execution of switching schedules, and the issuing of safety documents to others. (Employees who only hold a SAP Manage competency for Plant Maintenance will not be deemed as a Full SAP). Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Essential Good organisational and communication skills HNC Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) – ONC will be considered for £65,241 salary. 33kV and 132kV SAP authorisation on the SPN network – 33kV only will be considered for £65,241 salary. Key Competencies Essential IOSH Managing Safely certificate (must be attained within 12 months of appointment) IT literate including SAP. Good Knowledge of UKPN Inspection & Maintenance Policies & Procedures Current valid driving licence Organisational Awareness Customer Service Safety Management To be able to work on own initiative Flexibility Desirable NRSWA (City & Guilds) Supervisors certificate Project Management F Gas Qualified for GIS work Existing knowledge of plant (e.g. Tapchangers and Circuit Breakers) Please note: Should you not have the full range of essential skills, qualifications and competencies listed above, there may be an opportunity for further training to equip you. If you do not have all relevant competencies for the core grade, it will be appropriate to appoint at a lower grade until they have developed the required competencies.
