WARD MANAGER - Acute Respiratory Unit

An excitingopportunity has arisen for a band 7 nurse with a passion for respiratorymedicine to join our respiratory ward at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
You will leada dedicated team delivering a high standard of nursing care to our respiratorypatients.
ARU is a 31bedded unit that includes an 8 bedded high care area for non-invasive positivepressure ventilation and an Intervention Room for day case procedures.
We arelooking for a highly motivated experienced registered nurse who will be able todemonstrate significant band 6/7 experience to work with both patients andstaff to enhance respiratory care within ARU.
You willhave experience in working with multidisciplinary teams and agencies toproactively plan effective, safe discharges.

Main duties of the job
You will require advanced knowledge of respiratory disease and deliver a high standard of nursing care. A teaching qualification and advanced experience of caring for patients with respiratory disease are essential for this post holder.

Job responsibilities
To ensure a high standard ofnursing care at all times through the effective management of staff andresources on his / her allocated department.
To demonstrate strong clinicalleadership in stressful and challenging situations.
To promote a positive approach tonew challenges and creative ways of working.
To act as advocate for theirdesignated area and liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team toco-ordinate all aspects of patient care in the best interests of the patientand family.
To ensureeffective training and educational programmes are available by liaisingwith appropriate personnel to meet the training and educational needs ofnurses in the clinical area.
This post carries continuing responsibilityfor the management of the Ward, including the deployment and supervisionof staff.
