We are looking for a Procurement Technology Category Manager to join our newly reorganised team
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective care for our patients and service users. Procurement is about much more than simply buying goods and services. In the NHS, it's about finding innovative, sustainable and commercially effective solutions that directly support the delivery of frontline care.
As a Category Manager, you will take responsibility for your own portfolio of spend, becoming the go-to expert in your area. From shaping sourcing strategies and leading tendering exercises to building long-term supplier partnerships, your work will span the full procurement cycle. You'll work side by side with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior managers and clinicians to operational colleagues, ensuring that every contract delivers real value, efficiency and quality.
One of the most rewarding aspects of working in NHS procurement is the variety. Our work touches almost every area of healthcare: from technology and medical devices to estates, facilities and corporate services. This means there are always opportunities to broaden your experience, take on new challenges and gain insight into different elements of procurement.
We are committed to encouraging professional development. You'll have access to the newly launched NHS CIPS Academy, mentorship, and opportunities to develop specialist knowledge. Our team benefits from established systems, a dedicated operational support function covering the purchase-to-pay process, and a culture that values collaboration and continuous improvement.
In this role, you'll be empowered to deliver change and see the direct results of your work across our healthcare services. If you are motivated by making an impact, thrive on building relationships and want to use your commercial expertise to improve patient care, we'd love to hear from you.
