Advert We have an exciting permanent opportunity to join our Procurement team within the Chief Executives Department. You will support the delivery of a professional procurement service delivering goods, works and services in accordance with legislation, regulations and Council Contract Standing Orders, driving value for money and supporting delivery of Council priorities and objectives. The post-holder will be required to study towards a recognised professional procurement qualification. This role is designed to develop the skills and experience required to become a qualified procurement professional within local government. You will be responsible for: Providing consistent and comprehensive procurement advice and guidance, which aims to ensure compliance with relevant procurement strategies, regulations and standing orders across the Council Actively participating in delivery of our contract delivery plan and support the preparation and issue of contract documentation for the team Leading on the development of contracts across all areas of the Council which are of low complexity / risk Supporting the implementation and ongoing management of Contract and Supplier Management across the Council and the collection of Community Benefits Co-ordination of the Council’s Procurement and Commercial Improvement Programme (PCIP) Supporting with identification of savings initiatives including analysis of spend and presentation of opportunities Undertaking market research to support procurement activities before they go to market Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
