Overview
Provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire premises through effective and efficient methods, delivering a safe and welcoming environment and meeting NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards. To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.
NHS Lanarkshire serves a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in North and South Lanarkshire and comprises Acute Services, Corporate & Property & Support Services, and North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships.
Responsibilities
* Clean and maintain designated areas in accordance with established standards and procedures.
* Undertake on-the-job training and induction (approximately 4–6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked) to achieve full competency across duties.
* Apply Health & Safety practices, including risk assessment of individual tasks.
* Complete PaMOVA training level 1 and level 2 as identified by risk assessment.
* Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training and mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
* Complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
* Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Work efficiently in a busy environment and use basic information technology.
* Flexible and willing to learn, with the ability to work under pressure.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
* On-the-job training and induction as above.
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety and risk assessment.
* PaMOVA training or willingness to undertake as identified.
* Mandatory NHS Lanarkshire training and HCSW standards compliance.
* Basic IT literacy and effective communication skills.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to perform assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
Desirable (Nice-to-have)
* Recognised SVQ or equivalent qualification.
* Experience in a domestic services/cleaning environment.
* Knowledge of systems and processes such as HAI, Manual Handling, Infection Control, COSHH, Fire Safety.
* Experience using a range of electrical cleaning equipment.
* Flexibility and willingness to learn new tasks.
* Ability to work under pressure.
Contract and Location
* Fixed Term for 6 months
* Part Time, 15 hours per week
* Location: Domestic Services, Wester Moffat Hospital
Working Pattern
* Monday – Friday, 16:00–19:00
