Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager for an on-site, full-time position in Oldham. The Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality care for children in a residential setting. Responsibilities include supervising and developing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing day-to-day operations, and fostering a safe, nurturing, and consistent environment. You will also be responsible for enhancing outcomes for young people, safeguarding their well-being, and supporting their development while maintaining accurate records and reporting as required.
Qualifications
* Leadership and team management skills, including the ability to mentor and develop staff effectively.
* Understanding of safeguarding practices, policies, and regulatory requirements within children’s residential care.
* Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities for managing day-to-day operations.
* Proficiency in report writing, record-keeping, and communication, both verbal and written.
* Capability to build positive relationships with young people and uphold a person-centered approach.
* Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent qualification. Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or willingness to work toward) is desirable.
* Previous experience in a similar role within children's residential care, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
* Dedication to professional development and commitment to raising care standards.
