Role Overview
The Factory / Production Manager will lead the manufacturing function at GLRE Rooflights, ensuring high-quality fabrication of bespoke rooflight and glazing systems. This hands-on role requires proven expertise in aluminium welding and fabrication, alongside strong organisational skills to manage workflow, quality, and health & safety within the production facility.
The post-holder will work closely with the Commercial team and Installation teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage all workshop operations, including planning, scheduling, and supervising production activities.
* Fabricate, assemble, and finish rooflight and glazing systems to specification.
* Carry out high-quality aluminium welding and fabrication to required industry standards.
* Maintain quality control throughout the production process, ensuring all products meet technical drawings and specifications.
* Lead, train, and develop factory staff, including apprentices and trainees.
* Monitor stock levels, liaise with suppliers, and ensure materials are available for production.
* Uphold strict compliance with Health & Safety standards, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
* Coordinate with Contract Management and Installation teams to meet project deadlines.
* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise workshop processes.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in aluminium welding and fabrication (essential).
* Background in roof glazing, fenestration, or construction product manufacturing (preferred).Strong technical ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Package
* Salary: £35,000 to £50,000 Depending on Experience
* Hours: 7.30am to 4.30pm
