The Role
Driver Hire Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft is recruiting a Class 1 HGV Driver for a temp to perm position specialising in live bird transportation. This role offers the opportunity to move into a permanent contract following a successful temporary period.
You’ll be responsible for safe, compliant, and efficient transportation of live birds while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and biosecurity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Transport live birds safely and in line with animal welfare regulations
2. Adhere to strict biosecurity procedures
3. Complete all paperwork accurately and on time
4. Follow health & safety guidelines at all times
5. Maintain accurate driving hours and working time records

7. 12 week temp to perm opportunity

9. Day shifts – occasional weekends
10. Upskilling opportunities – Gain Moffett licence
Requirements
11. Full UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
12. Live Bird Transportation Certificate – preferred but training would be considered
13. Valid CPC & Digital Tacho Card
14. Minimum 12 months’ Class 1 experience preferred
15. Maximum 6 points (no CD, IN, DD or DR endorsements)
16. Strong knowledge of Driving Hours Regulations & WTR
