An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Broadcast Engineer to join the Engineering team in Scotland at the home of Clyde 1 and Greatest Hits Radio.
You will be responsible for broadcast systems, focusing on delivering effective and efficient technical solutions. This role is suitable for someone looking to further their career in the radio industry. You should be an excellent communicator, capable of building strong relationships across all levels and departments. Technical skills may come from your education, previous jobs, or specific technical interests.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently or as part of a team committed to high service and quality standards. The position is based at Bauer Media’s studio centre in Clydebank near Glasgow. Normal working hours are from 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with 25 days of holiday. The role may require some out-of-hours and on-call work, as well as work at other Bauer Media sites.
What you’ll do
1. Implement and monitor studio and equipment maintenance procedures.
2. Develop and oversee a comprehensive investment programme for broadcast equipment.
3. Create and maintain system documentation.
4. Conduct detailed continuity planning with quantified risks.
5. Contribute to tactical planning.
6. Provide daily technical advice and support to station management.
7. Maintain awareness of technical issues through effective communication.
8. Build strong relationships with local and regional station teams.
9. Ensure high-quality service from suppliers and vendors.
10. Support and develop the broadcast infrastructure.
11. Assist the management team with new technology initiatives.
12. Support group technical strategy development.
What you’ll bring
* Experience in broadcast engineering within a mainstream radio station environment.
* Experience supporting Axia Audio-over-IP environments and Digital Playout Systems.
* Good knowledge of electronics, computers, and audio test and measurement methods and equipment.
