3 months contract with a local authority Summary To supervise, facilitate, and promote safe, meaningful, and positive Family Time sessions between children and their families. The role ensures that children in care or involved in child protection processes maintain essential relationships with their significant family members in a safe, structured, and child-centred environment. The post holder will safeguard children at all times and contribute to their overall care plan through high-quality observation, recording, and professional partnership working. Responsibilities Supervise and facilitate Family Time sessions, ensuring interactions are child-centred, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate. Safeguard children throughout all sessions, maintaining constant awareness of risk and ensuring their physical and emotional safety. Deliver Family Time in a variety of locations, including Family Time Centres, Family Hubs, community venues, and family homes. Essential Experience Required Experience working directly with children, families, or vulnerable groups in a professional setting. Experience managing challenging or emotional situations while maintaining professionalism and safeguarding awareness. Essential Qualifications Required Relevant qualification in childcare, social care, family support, or safeguarding (e.g., NVQ Level 3, Diploma in Children & Young People’s Workforce). Enhanced DBS check for working with children. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with Business Insurance. Good standard of literacy and communication skills.
