Your Role and Responsibilities
As a SEND Teacher, you will teach small, bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:
* Planning and delivering well-structured lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
* Assessing and reporting on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
* Adapting teaching methods to cater to the diverse strengths and needs of students.
* Setting high standards that inspire and challenge pupils.
* Promoting positive learning outcomes.
* Demonstrating strong subject knowledge across the KS3/KS4 curriculum.
* Preparing learners for external tests.
* Supporting learners with SEND effectively.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A relevant degree
* Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE
* Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred
* Knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies
* Strong understanding of child development and learning
* Ability to build effective relationships with pupils
* Knowledge of safeguarding practices
* Good ICT skills to support learning
