Overview
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for managing products throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and member requirements, defining the product vision, and managing cross-functional teams to deliver successful products and ensure product line sustainability. The role also involves aligning the product with the company's strategic vision and performance goals. The Senior Product Manager oversees the credit union’s product offerings to achieve growth, yield, and risk management objectives.
This position includes responsibilities in interviewing, selecting, and hiring new team members. Additionally, Senior Product Managers mentor, train, conduct performance evaluations, and direct staff efforts to meet production and credit union performance targets.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Management
2. Establish and drive strategic plans ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
3. Create analytical infrastructure for rapid strategic decision-making.
4. Advise on underwriting and lending practices.
5. Maintain product forecasts including growth, revenue, and expenses.
6. Develop revenue-generating strategies and business cases with member impact considerations.
7. Mitigate risks by monitoring underwriting guidelines, write-offs, delinquency, and economic factors.
8. Manage product lifecycle, gather and prioritize requirements, and define product vision.
9. Identify and execute underserved membership expansion opportunities.
10. Develop tools, processes, and solutions across product categories.
1. Pricing
2. Create and optimize pricing models aligned with strategic goals.
3. Maintain pricing for large loan portfolios and ensure market share/yield ratios.
4. Lead pricing initiatives, evaluate models, and develop elasticity models.
5. Translate pricing strategies into business plans to increase market share and revenue.
1. Research
2. Analyze market trends and competitor positioning.
3. Serve as subject matter expert on assigned products.
4. Report on product performance and market awareness.
5. Conduct market and product research, use SQL, Tableau, and other tools for analysis.
1. Product Innovation
2. Develop product modifications, build and launch features.
3. Drive innovation and automation for scalable solutions.
4. Manage product innovation activities, including pricing, terms, and attributes.
5. Create and maintain product requirement documents and roadmaps.
6. Ensure user experience and business requirements are incorporated in design.

2. Advise management on product value propositions and strategies.
3. Lead cross-functional teams on risk, pricing, and growth initiatives.
4. Negotiate contracts and coordinate with departments.
5. Manage projects to ensure timely delivery and requirements fulfillment.
6. Supervise and evaluate staff, including conducting performance reviews.
Qualifications
Training/Education/Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required; Master’s preferred.
Required Knowledge:
• Knowledge of credit union products, market pressures, statistics, and financial indicators.
• Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, R Studio, and Python.
Experience Required:
• At least eight years in product management or related field, preferably in financial services.
Skills/Abilities:
• Successful product development and launch experience.
• Strong influencing, communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint.
