The Bedford Swan Hotel is looking for an experienced and hands-on Conference & Banqueting Manager to lead the successful planning, coordination and delivery of conferences, meetings, weddings and events.
This is a key leadership role focused on delivering outstanding guest experiences while ensuring all events are commercially successful and run seamlessly. You will be the main point of contact for clients from planning through to delivery, leading your team by example and being present during events to ensure the highest standards are met.
THE ROLE:
Oversee the coordination and delivery of all conferences, banqueting, weddings and events
Act as the main point of contact for clients from planning through to event completion
Ensure accurate communication of event details via function sheets
Be present during events to ensure smooth delivery and resolve any issues effectively
Lead, motivate and train the C&B team, supporting development and engagement
Monitor labour costs and stock usage
Manage departmental administration including rotas, meetings and probations
Host weekly function sheet meetings alongside the Events Manager
Take responsibility for recruitment within the department
Oversee table plans and room layouts, ensuring completion in advance
Complete weekly action plans, monthly equipment stock counts and regular departmental walk-arounds
Implement, maintain and continuously improve departmental operating standards
