We are looking for a qualified clinical psychologist to join our friendly and supportive team at the Greenfield Centre. The post is 0.8 WTE (30 hours per week) for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave.
The successful candidate will hold a caseload of clients for assessment, formulation and 1-1 psychological therapy. There are opportunities to deliver group interventions, supervise other psychological practitioners in the team, and contribute to service development, research and audit.
Responsibilities
* Work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team offering advice, joint working and supervision of psychology and non-psychology colleagues who contribute to the pathway.
* Be accountable for own professional practice in delivering highly specialist psychological care to service users with highly complex mental health conditions, which may include challenging behaviours.
* Be compassionate in meeting the needs of service users, their carers and families.
* Provide training and supervision to less experienced colleagues within the designated psychology service and to other members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Undertake formal research as an integral part of the job and act as field supervisor to doctorate trainees.

Job Description
Job responsibilities include organizing workload day-to-day, prioritising tasks, allocating work to assistant, trainee and newly qualified psychologists, planning individual patient/client care, acting as care co-ordinator/lead practitioner where appropriate, ensuring a multidisciplinary care package, and monitoring progress. Provides clinical supervision to less experienced psychology staff and to members of the wider multidisciplinary team.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology (or equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
Essential Experience
* Working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service including a wide variety of client groups across the life course and a range of clinical settings.
Essential Knowledge
* Doctoral level knowledge of evidence-based practice relevant to the role.
