Hours: 34 hours per week (part-time)
Job Summary
The role is based within the Cotswold Locality and involves working with Health Visitors, Public Health Nurses and Community Nursery Nurses to deliver a Universal offer of care. Key responsibilities include conducting ante‑natal, newborn, 6‑week and targeted developmental reviews, as well as providing safeguarding support in partnership with agencies such as Social Care, Early Help and the voluntary sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide universal and targeted care to families, including antenatal and postnatal visits.
* Deliver safeguarding support and liaise with external agencies.
* Engage in face‑to‑face and virtual ante‑natal educational sessions.
* Support staff through regular supervision and training.
* Be involved in training programmes such as Newborn Behavioural Observation, Emotional Wellbeing Support visits, and becoming a Practice Assessor.
* Access and utilize Video Interactive Guidance (VIG) resources.
* Manage a caseload within the skill mix team, covering Universal, Targeted and Specialist/Safeguarding families.
* Assist in supporting students on practice (Student Health Visitors and Nurses).
* Consider further study and become a champion in areas of interest like mental wellbeing or transition to parenthood.
Qualifications and Professional Requirements
* Work to the Standards of Proficiency for Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (NMC July 2022).
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience in public health or health visiting.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
