Our new AI Research and Delivery Advisor will support our staff and volunteers in understanding and using AI effectively by acting as the first point of contact for AI‑related queries. You will work closely with users to identify their needs and assess whether existing tools such as Free Copilot are suitable or if alternatives are required. The role undertakes research, provides clear guidance, and ensures AI solutions are safe, compliant and aligned with RNLI policies. It will help us build organisational confidence and capability in the responsible use of AI.
Responsibilities
* Conduct structured research into potential generative AI solutions where Copilot 365 is insufficient and document the benefits, limitations, risks and compliance considerations of each tool.
* Work with Information Security, Data Protection, and any other relevant stakeholders to assess AI tool suitability.
* Maintain a central view of AI demand, emerging use‑cases and organisational needs.
* Ensure AI activities align with organisational policies and data governance frameworks.
* Coordinate the development of training materials that help users understand the capability of Copilot 365 and promote responsible, risk‑aware AI adoption across the organisation.
Qualifications
* Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, Digital Technologies, with a demonstrated AI learning path.
* Practical experience in researching, evaluating or applying digital or AI tools to solve business problems, with the ability to translate technical concepts into accessible guidance for users.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess user needs and determine suitable AI solutions.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders across technical and non‑technical teams.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot capabilities.
* Experience with AI‑assisted productivity tools or digital adoption practices.
* Familiarity with governance, information security or risk assessment principles related to digital technologies.
* Experience or training in user support, digital adoption, or technology evaluation.
