Electrical Manufacturing Engineer:
Primary Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for determining electrical manufacturing methods for hardware and ensuring that the processes are available. The candidate will create manufacturing assembly documentation, concept tools, and provide technical assistance to assemble high-quality, high-engineered hardware for use in Life Support and Thermal Control applications, as well as to external suppliers. The role includes supporting failure investigations, determining root causes, implementing corrective actions, and managing the disposition of non-conforming hardware, all in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
The engineer will determine and create sequences for complex operations and installations, develop procedures for fabrication, disassembly, assembly, repairs, and ensure efficiency and performance optimization. Ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and quality standards is essential. The candidate should identify opportunities for product improvement or cost reduction by leveraging knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, and materials.
Responsibilities also include performing cost estimates, adhering to schedules, reviewing drawings, resolving producibility concerns, and recommending new technological equipment and materials. The candidate must work well in an integrated product development team and may present to senior management. Additional initiatives like ACE, Process Certification, Manufacturing Process Reviews, Lean Manufacturing, and EH&S projects will also be part of the role.
The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, excellent communication skills within teams, and relevant experience. Familiarity with modeling/design packages like Creo, courses in electrical design/manufacturing, knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, and experience with IPC-J-STD-001E/ES, NASA-STD-8739.1, NASA-STD-8739.4 are desired. Experience with software solutions such as Solumina MES and conveying work instructions is preferred. This position is onsite.
