Main duties of the job
Responsibilities:
Operation management of prosthetic clinicsdeveloping close links with prosthetists, the wider multidisciplinary team,workshop and admin managers to deliver quality, on time services
Monitor prosthetic prescriptions, processes andbudgets
Take responsibility for a small caseload ofcomplex patients
Co-ordinate preceptorship, training andclinical supervision of the prosthetists
Lead on improvement projects and attenddepartmental meetings

Job responsibilities
scope
Ensureeffective and efficient running of prosthetic clinics on a daily basis. Thiswill require developing close links with prosthetists, consultants, workshopand admin manager to ensure clinical time is maximized and patient waitinglists and delivery times are effectively managed.
Monitorall clinicians product usage against budget and OPU targets
Allocation/reallocationof patients as necessary, and to manage and review active patient numbers sothat clinical experience and balance is maintained within the team asappropriate.
Co-ordinateclinical training for prosthetists. responsibilities to include organizingrelevant clinical training, both internally and externally, in line withservice needs.
Ensureclinical staff undertake and maintain their ESR and/o iHasco training asappropriate.
Ensureclinical staff undergo regular clinical supervision and appraisals and monitorany follow-up actions.
Investigateand report on patient complaints in line with Company and Trust procedures.
Leadon clinical projects e.g. Audit, introduction of new products/trials, clinicalR&D
Attendmeetings as appropriate. MDT, user group etc.
Leadon clinical protocols and pathways design and implementation so that patientexperience is maximized
To be an active member of the local Steepermanagement team. The local team is the Combined Service Manager, Prosthetic ClinicalManager, Principal Orthotist, Admin Manager and Workshop Manager.
Ensure that all prostheses produced meet thesafety and quality procedures laid down by the company and manufacturers.
To manage the Work in Progress to ensure thecompanys cash flow is maintained and jobs are cleared and invoiced promptly.
To liaise with the Workshop Manager to ensureproduction flows efficiently and is of the highest standard.
To show leadership qualities for your team andshow and encourage a culture for continual improvement in both clinical andinterpersonal skills.
To participate in all activities as required ordirected by Branch manager or another member of the company senior managementteam.
Person Specification
Experience
 * What we are looking for:
 * A minimum of 5 years clinical experience
 * Educated and have a clinical qualification in Prosthetics and Orthotics.
 * Senior clinician skill confidence and competency with a broad prosthetic clinical experience and product knowledge willing to support others.
 * 5 years plus clinical experience
 * Familiar with Word and Excel
 * The ability to work in a team environment
