Job overviewThe post holder will works as Senior Nurse Adviser with demonstrable breath of experience in Occupational Health and is responsible for the delivery of client-focused programmes of care.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the needs of the employing organisation are met in a way which addresses the complex and changing health and wellbeing needs of the client group in their workplace. The post holder will support the OH nurse manager in the smooth running of the department on a day to day basis. Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for the delivery of Occupational Health clinic's which focus on case management following referral to the department.Demonstrates specialist skill and professional knowledge acquired through post registration academic, clinical, leadership and management development.

However, if you would prefer to be contacted through a different method, please inform the recruitment team.Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesAssist the Occupational Health (OH) Nurse Manager in the day to day management of the provision of occupational health services to customers coordinating services and acting up in their absence when necessary.Assist the OH Nurse Manager to ensure that the customers and clients receive an effective occupational health service. Meeting the needs of the customer whilst working within the boundaries of the service level agreement or contract and adopting a patient focused approach in service delivery.Demonstrate excellent personal communication.
Establish and maintain effective two-way communication channels with individuals and groups. Demonstrate appropriate assertiveness and ability to challenge others with regard to ethical and legal issues affecting both the employer and employee.Refer to the job description for the list of the main responsibility of the role.Person specificationEducation / QualificationsEssential criteria- Registered Nurse who holds a recordable/registered Occupational Health Nurse qualification for example, Accredited specialist public health community nurse (OH) to Degree level on part 3 of NMC register OR Equivalent- Evidence of continuous personal, professional and academic developmentDesirable criteria- Training in managing of complex Occupational health referralsExperienceEssential criteria- Significant post qualification experience including in acute settings- Demonstrable breath of experience as a qualified practicing Occupational Health Adviser.- Broad experience in Occupational health managing complex cases- Evidence of leading and supporting other to enhance their own performance- Demonstrates excellent team working- Up to date knowledge of current statutory regulations and guidance documents- Experience in delivering clinics via a range of communication methods including on site in person or remote via telephone or video consultationDesirable criteria- Experience within both NHS & Private Sector Occupational Health fields- Experienced in managing complex mental health related referralsSkillsEssential criteria- Demonstrates ability to place client at centre of care.- Proven listening and counselling skills- Demonstrates ability to think laterally, creatively and innovatively to enhance patient care- Experience of risk assessment.We are an approved sponsoring organisation.
