This role is pivotal in driving business growth, achieving revenue targets, and building strong customer relationships.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership, with a deep understanding of a regulated environment and a strong ability to influence and inspire teams.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement effective sales strategies, plans, and profit targets aligned with business objectives.
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to deliver outstanding customer service and exceed performance goals.
Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities in key target markets.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
Maximize new business development efforts while nurturing existing client relationships.
Monitor and evaluate market trends to adapt strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
Build and maintain long-term client relationships to drive customer loyalty and retention.
Set and monitor weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales objectives.
Prepare accurate and insightful sales reports and forecasts.
Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and deliver tailored solutions.
Analyse market data to establish competitive pricing and identify growth opportunities.
Estimate sales volumes and profitability for current and new product offerings.
Develop and manage a comprehensive sales training program for new team members.
Regularly meet with sales managers to assess performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
Required Skills and Experience Minimum of 5 years experience as a Sales Director or equivalent senior sales role.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong leadership and team management experience, including setting and achieving individual sales targets.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills across all organisational levels.
Demonstrated ability to lead a sales process from strategy to close.
Expertise in positioning and differentiating products in a competitive market.
Strategic thinker with strong commercial and business acumen.
Proficient in the use of CRM systems and analytical tools for planning and reporting.
Strong understanding of sales training, coaching, and succession planning.
Criteria Strong knowledge of sales within a regulated environment industry eg Financial Services Analytical with significant previous experience in preparation of sales plans and reports.
Strategic, results driven individual with commercial business acumen.
Strong leadership skills, including performance management, coaching, succession planning and career development.
Track record of delivering results in fast paced, competitive industry.
Understanding of CRM systems.
3 years experience of running a successful sales team with individual team targets is desirable.
