They are located near Wakefield and have an excellent reputation and history of producing quality, fast track projects across the sector for some leading retail clients such as Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Pets at Home etc… They’re passionate about delivering exceptional projects and are currently recruiting a new Estimating Manager. The Estimating Manager will lead the estimating team, overseeing the preparation of accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality and profitability. This role is critical in securing new projects and supporting our company’s growth and success. Duties: * Manage, mentor, and develop the estimating team. * Assign tasks and ensure team members meet deadlines and quality standards. * Provide training and support to improve estimating skills and industry knowledge. * Conduct performance appraisals, hold one-on-one meetings, manage performance review processes, and oversee other HR-related activities. * Oversee the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects. * Review and validate estimates prepared by estimators. * Analyse project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop reliable estimates. * Coordinate the preparation of bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and schedules. * Ensure bids are competitive, compliant with client requirements, and aligned with company profitability targets. * Present and defend bid proposals to senior management and clients as needed. Experience and Qualifications: * Proven experience in commercial management, business development, or a similar role. * Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry. * Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards. * Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft
