About Choice Care
Choice Care was founded in 1999 by husband and wife, Andrew and Fiona Key. With more than 70 years' experience in the health and social care sector, Andrew and Fiona combined their backgrounds with a passion for delivering high-quality home care services in Lancashire along the M65 corridor, bridging the gap between traditional home care and nursing. We work directly with private clients and families or in partnership with social services, CCGs, solicitors and health professionals to provide care and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community. We work with organisations such as East Lancashire Hospice, the Stroke Association, Dementia UK, Parkinson’s UK and the MS Society to keep our staff up to date on skills and training. Our carers are vetted and trained to gain the qualifications needed to pursue a long-term career in care. We provide induction training, with ongoing development to meet competency in care plans and required care levels. New recruits may work toward their diploma/NVQ in care (typically 6–9 months). We are an equal opportunities employer and value a drive to learn and progress in the care industry. We are a family-run business dedicated to growth and supporting carers on their career path.
Training & Career Development
New recruits will undergo initial training in our training room with our nurse and management team, followed by shifts supervised to ensure competence in following care plans and delivering the required level of care. Training continues with continuing professional development in many care-related topics. If you have experience and/or an NVQ in Health & Social Care, your starting rate may be higher. New carers may start with an hourly rate of £12.25, with progression to £12.60–£13.00 dependent on NVQ status and probation results.
