We’re looking for an ambitious, driven graduate to join our IT team as a Trainee Project Manager.
As a project management trainee, you’ll work alongside experienced project managers and client service teams to support the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of internal and client-facing projects. From systems implementation to compliance initiatives, you’ll gain hands-on experience in how projects are run in a professional services environment while working toward a recognised qualification, such as the Association for Project Management (APM PMQ).
Here are some examples of your responsibilities:
* Assist in planning and scheduling project timelines, deliverables, and resources.
* Monitor project progress and update documentation accordingly.
* Support in preparing status reports, risk assessments, and meeting notes.
* Liaise with internal departments to ensure effective communication and task delegation.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
* Maintain documentation in line with compliance and audit requirements.
* Attend training sessions and work towards completing the apprenticeship framework.
* Work within the Project Management Office to ensure visibility of all projects to the Management Board.
This role can be based in Sheffield or Leeds. As BHP is a regional firm, you should be willing to work across our other offices in York, Cleckheaton, and Chesterfield regularly.
Person Specification
* A minimum of five GCSEs (grade 4/C or above), including Maths and English.
* 104 UCAS points from three A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualification(s).
* An Honours degree in Business or Technology, with a 2:2 classification or above.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A keen eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset.
* Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
