We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our Ascend Cloud Foundation Platform team.

Reporting into our Senior Client Delivery Manager, you will join an established agile technical team with a passion to lead an outstanding technical team that supports innovation, learning, and collaboration. Ensure that the team follows the highest technical standards. Support Agile methods to deliver high-value outcomes.
Main responsibilities:
* Lead an outstanding Agile technical team
* Deliver quality software
* Collaborate with risk, security, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) and industry standards related to data privacy and security
* Understand overlapping technical requirements across teams and help build technology roadmaps
* Own the codebase
* Own the technical application architecture
Required skills/experience:
* Experience with the full development lifecycle
* Ability to explain solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Write clean, scalable, reusable code following SOLID principles, design patterns, and coding standards
* Analyze, investigate, and compare large data sets when required
* Significant programming experience with Scala and Python
* Experience using Terraform for provisioning and deploying cloud services
* Experience developing on Apache Spark
* Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., Glue, S3, Step Functions, Lambdas, EventBridge, SQS)
* BDD / TDD experience
* Jenkins CI/CD experience
* Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as BitBucket and Jira
* Stay updated with industry terminology, concepts, and best practices
Qualifications:
Degree or data engineering discipline, or demonstrated relevant commercial experience
