The Role
The main purpose of the Skilled Fitter - Test is as follows:
* Set up Oil injected and Oil free Screw Compressors on dedicated test beds and assist in test set up of Turbo Compressors/Screw compressor Packages.
* Fit all related pipework to the Screw Compressor in preparation for mechanical testing.
* Laser align Screw Compressors and any other drive train equipment required for testing.
We are offering a starting salary of £37,500 for this role, rising to £39,000 after completing training. Maximum earnings including the x1.33 shift pattern and overtime is £53,500. The team operates a three-shift rotating structure with a rate of x1.33, consisting of early shift (6am-2pm), back shift (2pm-10pm), and night shift (10pm-6am), Sunday Night - Friday Early. Additional overtime is available outside the standard shift pattern (all overtime paid at 1.5x).

What will you do?
* Set up Oil injected and Oil free Screw Compressors on dedicated test beds and assist in test setup of Turbo Compressors/Screw compressor Packages.
* Ensure all safety and mechanical documentation is complete during test setup and removal.
* Conform to all aspects of HCO Quality Management system, including fulfilling all relevant procedures and WSIs to ensure conformance to international standards.
* Deliver quality products in a timely manner, contributing to efficient manufacturing principles to meet cost forecasts.
* Accurately collate shop floor documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
* Provide training support for apprentices and colleagues to ensure skill transfer.
* Respond to all aspects of supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery, and quality improvements.
* Adhere to environmental, health, and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment and minimizing environmental impact.
* Dispose of waste according to site waste segregation requirements.

* Recognized mechanical fitting apprenticeship and relevant qualifications.
* Experience with rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, and turbines.
* Experience in a mechanical testing environment, familiar with safety procedures.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience in precision manufacturing and assembly processes.
* Lifting, slinging, and forklift certification.
* Electrical systems awareness.
