Join our dynamic and student-centred Student Services Team at Barnet and Southgate College, where you'll play a key role in supporting learners to thrive. As a Early Help & Engagement Adviser, you will provide tailored one-to-one support to students facing a range of challenges, from emotional wellbeing to social and practical barriers. You'll be the first point of contact for students in need of early help, offering compassionate guidance, study skills support, and timely referrals to internal and external services. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to empowering young people to build resilience, confidence, and independence. You'll manage a caseload of students, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive college culture where every learner can succeed.
Minimum qual - i.e. relevant Level 3 or equivalent with grades A*-C in English and Mathematics. Proven understanding of the complex and evolving challenges faced by young people and adults today, with a strong track record of delivering and recording one-to-one support that encourages sustained engagement and progression. Demonstrated experience in helping students build essential soft skills while addressing a wide range of social, emotional, and wellbeing-related issues that may act as barriers to learning and success.
