SEND Support Specialist
* Hourly Rate: £16.65 PAYE

* Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (37 hours per week)
We are seeking a SEND Support Specialist to join our team, focusing on supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is crucial in managing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring statutory compliance, and improving the quality and timeliness of documentation.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Address the backlog of EHCP annual reviews, ensuring compliance with tight Department for Education (DfE) timescales.
* Improve the quality and timeliness of EHCP documentation and amendments by reviewing and updating as necessary.
* Explore and implement best practices from other councils to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
* Undertake statutory duties relating to SEND through assessment and review processes.
* Gather information and advice from relevant agencies to support statutory responsibilities.
* Work closely with parents, education providers, and services across Education, Health, and Care.
* Advise education providers within the statutory framework of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
