Job Description

Working within the Public Safety business, you will be responsible for defining policies and standards that guide technology delivery, with significant experience in modern, cloud-based technology standards and practices.
As a Solution Architect, you will lead a team of architects and provide architectural design and technology roadmaps for complex Policing and National Security applications supporting high-volume, mission-critical products and services. Opportunities to oversee architectural needs within our Control Room application suites will also be available.
You will collaborate with Product Managers, Delivery, and Technical Leads to influence and define a technology roadmap aligning with our commercial and technological goals.
The core aim of this role is to provide technical assurance to ensure successful deployment of NECSWS Public Safety products into clients while protecting our commercial interests.
Success in this role requires mediating between stakeholders and explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, with confidence in communication at all levels. An understanding of evolving technology delivery in an agile environment is essential. Our stakeholder expectations are high, and you will facilitate discussions around high risk and complex issues within constrained timelines.
The Solution Architect will work with project or programme managers and the wider architecture team to:
1. Ensure that the scope of supply is correctly documented and maintained
2. Identify and manage technical project risks
3. Document and agree on non-functional requirements from customers
4. Make impact assessments practical, with well-defined scope and use of existing products where possible
5. Identify opportunities for additional product capabilities
Qualifications
Understanding/awareness of:
* C++
* C#
* SQL Server
* Windows platforms
* Domains / AD
* Mitel skills based routing integration
Practical knowledge of some or all of:
* C coding
* SIP protocol
* VOIP – RTP / RTCP, latency, jitter handling
In-depth knowledge of:
* Tetra network behaviors – Motorola Dimetra
* 3GPP network behaviors – Kodiak MCX
* MCX API usage of Softil SDK
* Analogue Radio base stations – VHF, MF
* Telephone PABX functionality
* Airwave certification processes
* EISEC service
The Solution Architect manages relationships with customer technical staff, providing technical support on issues like firewall settings, and supports the bid process with technical responses and infrastructure sizing, mainly cloud-based.
This role also involves promoting and leading the architectural vision within the team and across wider business units.
