Dakota Hotel based in Manchester City Centre are seeking an experienced hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for beverage and cocktails for the role of Bar Manager. CONTRACT AND PAY RATE Earnings are a guaranteed gross annual salary of £34,659.20 (inclusive of the anticipated tronc payment). The role carries a permanent contract of 40 hours per week working fully flexible shifts, working any 5 days out of 7 including working weekends. PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Provide daily management and direction to our bar tenders, bar floor team, and hosts, ensuring the highest standards of service provision at all times. To write the bar beverage menu, fully costed with allergens, and work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Head Chef to ensure consistent approach to food and beverage service. Implement training plans and deliver on-the-job training to drive the smoothest, most polished levels of service. Carry out beverage product-based training and work to continuously improve the teams’ knowledge to better enhance the guest experience. Develop and write rotas in line with operational needs and the forecasted revenue. Drive the commercial running of the Bar operation including carrying out the stock take and placing beverage orders. Have a hands-on approach to service and hosting, driving standards at all times. APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS The successful applicant will have/be: At least 3 years’ experience working in a full-service cocktail bar. At least 1 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a full-service Bar. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively train others and foster a team culture of continuous improvement. Experience in running Bar services and carrying out cash up. Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, wines and spirits is essential. Beverage-based qualifications such as west level 2 or above is strongly preferred. An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity. Be task oriented with a great pride for the work they do and attention to detail. Flexible with shift patterns and available around the needs of our business.
