We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head of Maths to lead our mathematics department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies, overseeing curriculum delivery, and inspiring both staff and students to achieve excellence in mathematics. *Responsibilities*
* Lead the planning, organisation, and delivery of the mathematics curriculum across all key stages.
* Support and mentor teaching staff to ensure high standards of instruction and student engagement.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching methods, implementing improvements where necessary.
* Develop innovative teaching resources and assessment tools to enhance student learning outcomes.
* Organise professional development programmes for staff to promote continuous improvement.
* Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
* Stay abreast of current developments in mathematics education and incorporate best practices into departmental strategies.
*Qualifications*
* Qualified teacher status (QTS) with a recognised teaching qualification.
* Proven experience in teaching mathematics at secondary or higher education levels.
* Demonstrable leadership skills with experience managing or leading a department or team.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan strategically and manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to motivate staff and engage students.
* A genuine passion for mathematics education and a commitment to fostering academic excellence.
