Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service is looking for a motivated and forward‑thinking individual to help drive data, intelligence and evidence‑based decision making. This is a key role that will help shape how we understand risk, plan for the future and keep our communities safe.
About the role
As the Strategic Risk Analyst, you will:
* Lead the development of data tools and analytical products that support strategic planning and improvement across the service.
* Produce and oversee our Strategic Assessment of Risk, ensuring we have a clear understanding of current and emerging risks to help shape our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP).
* Provide expert advice to senior leaders, helping them make informed, evidence‑led decisions.
* Work closely with managers, partners and national networks to share insight, improve risk analysis methodologies and support collaborative projects.
* Deliver intelligence products that support community safety, service improvement and organisational change.
* Represent Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service at local and national forums and support the wider intelligence community.
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has strong analytical skills and experience working with data tools and intelligence products.
* Can explain complex information clearly to a wide range of audiences.
* Is confident leading projects, influencing senior stakeholders and promoting new ways of working.
* Understands the importance of ethical data use, confidentiality and relevant legislation.
Is committed to continuous learning and keeping up to date with national developments in data and risk.
You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team working to help prevent harm and protect lives across Cornwall. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how Cornwall Fire and Rescue delivers its services to the public, working to help implement both national and local fire service improvements to reduce harm and risk in our communities.
