BI Developer Job Description: As a BI Developer at Sage, you'll play a vital role in transforming raw data into trusted, well-structured datasets that drive reporting, analytics, and business insights. You'll support the Performance Marketing team by building scalable, documented, and efficient data pipelines and dimensional models that enable data-driven, results-focused marketing strategies. Working closely with stakeholders, you'll ensure your solutions align with business goals and unlock performance insights. You'll be part of a team dedicated to making data meaningful and accessible, empowering smarter decisions and better ways of working. You'll also help evolve our data capabilities by automating processes and integrating AI technologies boosting insight generation, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all marketing initiatives. This is a hybrid role - 3 days in office 2 days at home Location - Newcastle Key Responsibilities: - Design and maintain data models and transformation pipelines that integrate data from multiple business systems. - Develop dimensional schemas to support consistent and reliable reporting and analytics. - Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a trusted source of data that supports consistent and reliable business insights across teams. - Ensure data processes are automated, scalable, and aligned with business timelines. - Support the integration of AI and machine learning capabilities into data workflows to enhance analytics and operational processes. - Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for data models, KPIs, and business logic. - Troubleshoot data issues and ensure high data quality and integrity across systems. - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. - Operate within agile or iterative delivery frameworks and communicate effectively across teams and functions. Skills - Strong proficiency in data transformation and modelling techniques using tools such as Snowflake, dbt, and SQL. - Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft Fabric), including semantic modelling. - Familiarity with version control and collaborative development workflows (e.g., GitHub, GitLab). - Understanding of workflow automation and low-code platforms (e.g., Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar). - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment. Desired but not essential - Experience with cloud-based data integration and orchestration tools (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory). - Exposure to AI and machine learning integration in analytics workflows (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, or similar AI assistants). - Knowledge of metadata and data governance practices using tools such as Collibra. - Familiarity with marketing technologies (e.g., Eloqua, Google Analytics) and understanding of marketing performance metrics and KPIs. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Technical / Professional Qualifications: - 3 years of experience in data modelling, data engineering, or a related analytical role.
