Associate Technical Director - Electrical

As part of our strategic growth, we are seeking to recruit an Associate Technical Director (Electrical) Building Services Engineer with a proven track record in delivering building services projects within railway environments.


Role Description

As an Associate Technical Director (Electrical), you are a recognized specialist providing high-level technical expertise to project teams for the delivery of projects across Global Excellence Centers (GECs). You possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, including HT, MV, LV, ELV, lighting, earthing and bonding, lightning protection, and fire alarm and detection systems. You have experience in sustainability and renewable energies such as solar, and in designing complex projects including mobility, building, and infrastructure across regions. Your responsibilities include risk assessments, project and team management, interfacing with other disciplines and clients, and providing solutions for complex issues. You will also be involved in bid support, reviewing pursuit estimates, and training and mentoring junior designers and team members.


Responsibilities

* Lead the electrical/MEPF designs for large and complex projects.
* Review complex design deliverables for major projects involving HV, MV, LV, ELV, and related systems.
* Perform roles as CRE and design manager, assisting design teams to meet project requirements.
* Participate in tender teams and provide technical advice on solutions.
* Conduct independent technical reviews for complex projects across GECs.
* Support professional leadership within the discipline and engage with other disciplines and clients.
* Provide guidance to colleagues managing very large or complex projects.
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of the area and contribute to various complex projects.
* Offer technical guidance to multi-disciplinary projects across GECs and countries.
* Contribute to developing expertise in the area and improving design processes through technology to minimize risk.
* Model Arcadis\u2019 Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) principles and safe design processes.
* Participate in discipline and organizational initiatives to improve the organization and its people.
* Delegate effectively to achieve the best outcomes for the team and organization.
* Develop strong relationships with the Global Business Area (GBA) to identify opportunities and implement service improvement protocols.
* Understand broad business and financial metrics to drive innovation and team contribution to the business.
* Innovate to ensure projects contribute to sustainable development and stay informed about future trends and technologies.
* Play a role in shaping strategy within the area of work and pursue standardization where possible.
* Improve efficiency and quality through automation.
* Maintain alignment with Arcadis policies and procedures and ensure safe design practices.


Qualifications and Competencies

* B.Tech / M.Tech / BEng / BSc in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering; MEng/MSc preferred
* 10+ years of design experience across mobility, building, and infrastructure projects
* Proven experience in independently leading and managing complex design projects
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) with reputed international bodies preferred
* Knowledge of design processes, document management (e.g., SharePoint, ProjectWise, Team Binder, BIM)
* Experience on major projects and complex designs, with ability to produce risk assessments and technical analyses
* Proficiency with design tools such as CAD, MicroStation, BIM360, Bluebeam
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; commitment to continuous professional development
* Experience in team development, coaching, and training
* Experience in feasibility studies, value engineering, risk assessments, sustainability initiatives, and NetZero strategies
* EV charging infrastructure, LEED/BREEAM assessments, testing and commissioning support
* Budget development and financial planning; project planning and control capabilities
* Ability to drive process improvements, automation, and standardization
* Strong understanding of Arcadis HS&W principles and safe design
* Familiarity with DtR (Deliver to Results) framework
