About the Role
At Practice Plus Group, we believe in delivering outstanding, patient‑centred care that makes a real difference. Our Worcester Out of Hours Service provides urgent primary care support when GP surgeries are closed, ensuring patients receive safe, effective treatment when they need it most.
This role is predominantly based within usual working hours, with some expectation to work within the Out of Hours period on occasions i.e. evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our multidisciplinary Out of Hours team in Worcester. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment where your expertise will directly support clinicians and enhance the quality and safety of medicines management across the service.

What you’ll be doing
* Supporting clinicians with medicines management and optimisation within the Out of Hours service
* Undertaking medicines reconciliation and ensuring accurate medication records
* Providing advice on prescribing queries within your scope of practice
* Supporting safe and effective stock management, including controlled drugs
* Assisting in clinical audits, incident reviews, and governance processes related to medicines
* Promoting high standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance at all times
* Assist with Medicines Management audits / projects, collecting data and generating audit reports for review by the organisation, ICB and CQC
* Adhere to all the requirements of data protection, GDPR and Caldicott
What we’ll look for in you
Essential
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Experience working in primary care, urgent care, community, or hospital pharmacy settings
* Strong understanding of medicines management and safe handling procedures
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to work independently and make sound professional judgements within your scope of practice
* Ability to work flexibly with a mixture of in and out of hours working; which includes weekends and bank holidays
Desirable
* Experience within an Out of Hours, urgent care, or GP practice setting
* Knowledge of clinical systems used in primary care
* Experience supporting clinical governance or quality improvement initiatives
* Independent prescribing qualification (where applicable) or working towards further professional development
