About the Job
The Engineering Program Manager is a professional role responsible for coordinating and managing the lifecycle of engineering & market launch readiness projects in UK, in close coordination with our headquarters in China. As the central contact point in local domestic market they ensure projects proceed according to plan, resolve development issues, and deliver successful project completion with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
1. Program Coordination and Management
* Coordinate detailed program plans both with UK head office and China HQ for all Products & Services
* Define & establish program structure, schedules, workstreams, and clear objectives and deliverables (KPIs)
* Manage prototype vehicles in the UK during their time in UK
2. Workstream Execution and Control
* Manage program workstreams across diverse portfolio of Sales & Aftersales product & service workstreams
* Act as central link pin between UK and China, collaborating with all local team members to deliver target
* Identify potential risks within program workstream and develop corresponding response strategies
* Appropriately assess, monitor, and elevate risks/issues in a timely manner with local senior leadership team
* Control workstream progress and risks to ensure smooth implementation
4. Communication and Coordination
* Establish communication mechanisms to coordinate and facilitate alignment across entire organisation
* Drive cross-functional collaboration and foster a culture of teamwork to achieve deliverables
5. Reporting and Documentation
* Track program progress to ensure timely completion, maintaining transparency to milestones in local systems
* Regularly report program status to local management, and escalat e risks with potential mitigation solutions
6. Technical Management
* Coordinate with all departments in China to ensure that all areas and information needed from local market are provided.
Education
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or related fields
* Education certifications will be required as part of background checks before employment
Experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering or program management related roles
* Experience with Chinese Automotive OEMs
* Experience with UK and European Automotive markets with both Sales (Product) & Aftersales (Services)
Technical Skills
* Project Management Capabilities
* Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, GANT, Kanban..)
* Experience with full project lifecycle management
* Strong technical background to better understand project requirements and challenges
* Familiarity with computer architecture and operating system components
* Ability to independently prepare technical proposals and recommendations
* Communication and Coordination Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English
* Strong organizational and stakeholder coordination abilities
