About the Schools
Mid Yell Junior High School is a non‑denominational school located in Mid Yell, Yell. It provides nursery, primary and secondary education up to S4 for children from Central, Mid and East Yell for Primary and the whole island of Yell for Secondary. The school is managed by a Head Teacher and a Deputy Head Teacher. The current staffing complement is 16 teachers assisted by support staff as required. Baltasound Junior High School is a non‑denominational school located in Unst. It provides nursery, primary and secondary education up to S4 for children from the island of Unst. The school is managed by a Head Teacher and a Deputy Head Teacher. The current staffing complement is 15 teachers assisted by support staff as required. Candidate Requirements
* Registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) prior to starting in post.
* Teaching qualification and registered with GTCS in the appropriate subject area.
* Experience and passion in Technical subjects – Woodwork and Graphic Communication.
* Must be prepared to join or update a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme before formal offer.
* Ability to work a peripatetic schedule: 3 days at Mid Yell Junior High School and 2 days at Baltasound Junior High School.
* Flexibility to discuss flexible working arrangements.
* Will welcome flexible‑route probationers and relocations package applies.
* Ability to pay interview expenses within the UK if required.
Additional Information
* Grade of post is TCHR.
* Salary includes Distant Islands Allowance of £2,997 per annum (pro rata).
* Permanent full‑time post for 35.0 hours per week.
* Class information – Secondary classes S1‑S4, up to National 5 level.
* Full‑time equivalent of 1.0.

This is a peripatetic post based at Mid Yell Junior High School. The post holder will work 3 days at Mid Yell Junior High School and 2 days at Baltasound Junior High School.
