About the role
We are seeking a committed and experienced Senior social Worker to join our dynamic, multi‑agency Adult Safeguarding Triage Team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for screening, assessing, and responding to adult safeguarding concerns in a timely and effective manner. Working in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) principles, you will collaborate closely with internal colleagues and external partners to safeguard adults at risk across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
* Screening Contacts & Referrals
o Triage and screen all incoming safeguarding contacts and referrals.
o Apply the three‑point test under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014 to assess whether the criteria for enquiry are met.
o Accurately record safeguarding concerns and actions within required timescales.
* Safeguarding Enquiries
o Undertake proportionate safeguarding enquiries into alleged abuse or neglect.
o Engage directly with adults at risk, their families, and advocates, ensuring their voices and preferences are central to the process.
o Carry out home visits when necessary to assess risk and gather information.
* Multi‑Agency Working
o Collaborate with key partner agencies including health services, police, housing, and voluntary sector organisations.
o Attend and contribute to high‑risk panels and strategy meetings.
o Refer and present cases to CMARAC (Complex Multi‑Agency Risk Assessment Conference) when appropriate.
* Referrals & Signposting
o Make referrals to appropriate internal and external support services, such as mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse services.
o Signpost individuals to relevant community and preventative services.
* Professional Development & Support
o Support the development of social work students and apprentices on placement.
o Actively participate in reflective supervision, regular team meetings, and ongoing CPD opportunities.
Salary will be offered within the appropriate banding based on skills, experience, and interview assessment.
