Overview
We\'re looking for a proactive leader to manage Council-run community centres and facilities, oversee staff, ensure health and safety compliance and support budget and property coordination. You\'ll supervise day-to-day operations, lead performance management, assist with asset transfers and foster partnerships to support local events and services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day operational management of community centres and facilities directly overseen by the Council.
* Supervise and performance manage Community Centre Assistants and Shopmobility staff, including regular team meetings, appraisals and development support.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including fire, gas, electricity checks, and COSHH requirements.
* Collaborate with Property Management to maintain facilities and support budget planning and monitoring.
* Support locally managed centres with guidance on statutory safety and operational standards.
* Oversee documentation and processes related to Community Asset Transfers.
* Foster strong partnerships with internal departments and external stakeholders to facilitate community activities and events.
What We\u2019re Looking For
* Proven experience in facilities or operational management, ideally within a community or public sector setting.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and building compliance standards.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
* Organised, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality public services.
