About the Role: The Local Service Manager role in Bury St Edmunds is a unique and dynamic position, delivering supported accommodation for people experiencing homelessness within the local area. This is a fast‑paced role, ideal for someone who can: Think on their feet and take a solution‑focused approach Work collaboratively with multiple agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for customers The service supports people with complex homelessness needs, including substance misuse, anti‑social behaviour, and ongoing mental health support. To Succeed in This Role, You Will Need: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a small but effective team The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with third‑party providers and local authorities A sound understanding of safeguarding principles Knowledge of KPIs and the importance of supporting customers to maintain their accommodation Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills The Role of Local Service Manager Includes: Leading the overall delivery of the service through effective team management and close liaison with the Area Service Manager Developing and maintaining strong relationships with partners, key stakeholders, and external agencies Overseeing service delivery and ensuring compliance with KPIs Managing the service’s financial performance and budget Recruiting, managing, and developing staff Ensuring flexibility around working hours to meet the needs of the service Taking responsibility for health and safety within the service Skills and Experience: Previous experience in a managerial role within a similar service Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure A compassionate, caring, and hands‑on approach Experience delivering personalised support to maximise customer development The ability to liaise effectively with statutory and voluntary partners A full, valid driving licence (travel is a requirement of the role) Are you ready to be your best: • At least 25 days paid holiday, rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service (plus public holidays) • Pension scheme with employer contributions • Variety of online discounts and rewards from major retailers • Health and well-being plans • Life assurance • Family-friendly arrangements, including flexible working opportunities • Tax-efficient savings through our Cycle to Work scheme • Wide range of learning and development opportunities Ready to BeYourBest?
