We are looking for an experienced and motivated Bar & Event Manager at Worthy Down Barracks, Winchester. The role involves leading and overseeing daily operations across a busy joint mess environment, ensuring high-quality bar and guest services, maintaining service standards, and driving performance.
You will plan and manage functions, lead a team of front-line staff, and ensure compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations. If you are a dynamic leader passionate about service delivery and people management, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and coordinate all bar and function operations across sites.
* Ensure consistent delivery of guest services and operational standards as outlined in the Site Information Pack (SIP) and manuals.
* Plan, organise, and direct daily service activities across the joint mess and outstations.
* Manage and support staff to fulfill bar and function duties effectively.
* Handle cash, stock, and supply orders accurately and timely.
* Monitor and report on third-party service providers.
* Promote health and safety, including safety walks and team briefings.
* Oversee staff training, development, and performance management.
* Maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding operational and personnel information.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Proven management experience in soft FM or hospitality.
* Strong people management skills, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Knowledge of health & safety and food safety standards.
* Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
* Problem-solving skills and effective solution implementation.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with military customs and operations.
* Experience with Kronos and UDC Payroll systems.
* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent H&S qualification.
* CIEH Level 3 Food Safety qualification or equivalent.
