Job Summary
Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust is holding a recruitment event for our Acute & Emergency Medicine care group near you. This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly supportive team, delivering high standard of compassionate patient‑centred care and gaining experience in a dynamic setting.
Main Duties
* Work as a skilled member of the nursing team.
* Provide a high standard of compassionate patient‑centred care.
* Lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team.
* Communicate effectively at all levels within the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff, as deemed appropriate by the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse or Clinical Matron.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Level 1 Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration or students pending registration.
* Commitment to obtain an assessing/mentoring qualification.
Desirable Qualifications
* Evidence of professional portfolio.
* Assessing & Mentoring qualification.
Essential Experience
* Minimum of six months experience in an acute Trust within the last twelve months (including student placement).
Desirable Experience
* Experience in the speciality.
Essential Skills
* Ability to plan, prioritize and evaluate nursing care in accordance with NMC Principles.
* Good record‑keeping skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to demonstrate accuracy in simple and complex drug calculation.
* Ability to work as part of an effective team.
* Basic computer skills.
Essential Knowledge
* Understanding of evidence‑based practice to enhance care.
* Understanding of professional and current issues in nursing.
* Understanding of the importance of research and evidence‑based practice.
* Ability to share and teach knowledge and experience to other healthcare professionals.
